• cool coding / nonwork project
• drinking coffee

Hacktivity Nite

Time: 1900 - 2145

Hi folks, after a brief hiatus hacktivity nite continues.

Date: this Tuesday the 29th of June. Duration: 1900 to 2200 Location: Humla, Hausmania.

There will be activities, coffe, soda and pizza. The consumption of alcohol and such does nothing to improve your skills or learning abilities. Stay sharp. We start with pizza pie and take it from there.

We focus our activities on one of three main project veins: - installation of new computers (we have new hardware. Fattighuset has asked for some computers). - physical networking improvements: fixes, better cable coverage, better wifi coverage, mapping - infrastructure improvements: file sharing, information, media and services

Here is how it works: 1. show up at 1900 2. team up with one other person 3. with your teammate, settle on one out of either: -> hardware OR network OR infrastructure. We will grant you a task in your chosen category. 4. work together as a team to complete the task before time runs out!

There are also "special activities" for die-hard loners, leets and people with two left hands: - write a questionnaire for our users - "forening stiftelsesbrev" - hosting server setup - penetration testing - brewing coffee - cool coding / nonwork project

All these things are cool. What is *not* cool is distracting others from completing their task. killer tracking pigeons will be deployed.

Hacktivity Nite

Hey everyone. Last Tuesday was good times and we got lots of stuff done. Next Tuesday we invite everybody for another Activity Nite: there are good tasks for everyone. This time we'll be sponsoring pizza and soda at the beginning of the event.

We were 8 to 10 people last Tuesday, we got lots of work done!

This Tuesday we're continuing work from last time, and we have some extra activities as well:

• media, NFS, cache and install server
• web proxy / captive gateway for information to HausNett users
• start vulcano automagically after poweroff
• ampache on vulcano instead of jinzora
• configure samba on vulcano better
• fix PXE thin/thick client and install setup
• offer Cafe PXE environment
• find livecd / working PXE for PowerPC mac

• "badness sensor"
• redtape/snort: set up sguil and other interfaces for tracking
• redtape: confirm that it's tracking traffic, configure good policies
• magic packet for wake on lan
• block ssh from haus to humla, allow ssh from humla to haus

== Wifi machine plan ==

• harddisk and OS for Wifi/router machine
• placement of Wifi machine: high ground! ideally: outdoor antenna, indoor machine
• directional antennae for Wifi machine
• VLAN trunking to Wifi machine
• Wifi beam / tracking / mapping / cracking
• extra wifi card
• redundant link to HausNett via Wifi?

• check grusomhetens teater network link
• mapping of networks: where are the switches?

• ideally, the wifi routers {musikk,humla,cabernet,..} should all have their own subnets
• 3rd floor has very crappy wifi despite AP's on 2nd and 4th floor
